Don’t let the stand in the liquor store parking lot fool you. We know New Yorkers who land at LAX and head straight for Yuca's. Jaime and Socorro Herrera opened the stand on April Fool’s Day, 1976. There are burgers and hot dogs, but customers flock here for some of the best carnitas, carne asada tacos and burritos we've ever tasted. The Yucatan-style cochinita pibil---shredded pork---has gained a particularly loyal following. Yucatan-style tamales are available on Saturdays only. Get a Dos Equis from the liquor store, grab one of the rickety tables, order a couple of tacos and enjoy one of L.A.'s great small pleasures.
